“This man is as brainy as a Mensa meeting, sharp as Zorro's sword, funny as Falstaff. He is Einstein with a better haircut, a streetwise black Tolstoy, a revved-up renaissance man for the digital age, obsessed with art, information and digital technology.” - Sunday Star Times – Auckland, NZ

Paul D. Miller is highly regarded as a writer and conceptual artist, though he is probably best known under the moniker of his constructed persona, "DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid." Miller has recorded a huge volume of music and has collaborated with a wide variety of musicians and composers from Metallica to Steve Reich, Yoko Ono to Pierre Boulez and Kronos Quartet to Killah Priest from Wu-Tang Clan.

His recent work includes a compilation CD of classic reggae tracks called In Fine Style, DJ Spooky presents 50,000 Volts of Trojan Records!!! as well as his award-winning book Rhythm Science.

His large scale multimedia work, Terra Nova: Sinfonia Antarctica, is a meditation on global warming, translating Miller's first person encounter with the harsh, dynamic landscape of Antarctica into visual and sonic portraits. In addition to video projections and DJ Spooky on turntables, the performance will also feature Corey Hamm on piano and string trio, Infinitus featuring Alex Cheung on cello, Anthony Cheung on viola and John "Adidam" Littlejohn on violin.

The program will open with a performance of Somei Satoh's piece, "Birds in Warped Time" featuring Corey Hamm on piano and John "Adidam" Littlejohn on violin.
