Rob Kapilow's Family Musik: The Four Seasons

Sunday May 4/2008
3:00 pm
Chan Shun Concert Hall

Co-Presented by Music in the Morning and the Chan Centre

The changing seasons have inspired artists, poets, and composers – now they’ve inspired Rob Kapilow, too!

With the Vancouver Family Musik Orchestra, a chamber chorus, and two professional dancers, Rob will explore how different feelings in the outside world can create different emotions inside, through music.

Vivaldi’s famous concerti form the concert’s core, but the concert also includes a transcription of Tchaikovsky’s The Seasons, a chamber work by British composer Larry Ashmore, an original Kapilow piece or two, songs in various languages ,and poetry by e.e. cummings and Langston Hughes, among others.

The most theatrical of Rob’s Family Musik concerts, The Four Seasons has lots of opportunities for kids to participate, including on –stage ‘improv’ with the dancers and in-seat learning, grooving, and laughing.
