Presented by the Chan Centre
A Vancouver resident and former Director of the UBC School of Music, pianist Robert Silverman is a true Canadian musical treasure. With dozens of recordings to his credit and performances with major orchestras all over the world, this master of the piano has led an exceptional musical life.
The date of this performance marks a milestone for the renowned artist— Silverman’s 70th birthday. Last November he performed in our intimate Telus Studio Theatre to an enthusiastic, sold-out house, and we’re thrilled to help him celebrate his birthday in style with this up-close-and personal concert.
Program highlights include Haydn's Sonata No. 62 in E flat major; Franck's Prelude, Chorale & Fugue; Brahms’ Sonata No. 3 in F Minor, Op. 5; and the Verdi-Liszt Concert Paraphrase on Rigoletto.
